Our silver-plated cutlery
Crafted in our Vire Manufacture in Normandy, our silver-plated collections have showcased the Maison’s exceptional savoir-faire since the 1970s.
Worked with absolute precision, the silver brings a refined finish to our collections, ensuring timeless elegance.
In our workshops, silver is deposited onto stainless steel, with knife blades left untreated to preserve their cutting precision. Every exceptional piece is the result of over ten manual interventions, ensuring excellence at every stage.
Our silver-plated cutlery collections are distinguished by their hallmark, a guarantee of precious metal quality and master silversmith expertise.
This hallmark indicates:
- The silver-plating quality, defined by the thickness of the silver deposit applied to the collection.
- The silversmith: the leopards, emblems of Normandy, positioned above the initials "GD" for "Guy Degrenne."
Guy Degrenne silverware meets the highest standards, guaranteed by the "I" quality square hallmark affixed to every piece. This standard requires an average thickness of 33 microns on main pieces—equivalent to approximately 84g of silver for 12 table forks and 12 table spoons.
Our silver-plated cutlery is crafted from the highest quality stainless steel base. All knife blades are made from specialized cutlery-grade steel and remain unsilvered to preserve their superior cutting edge.
Our silver-plated cutlery collection is also available at Guy Degrenne retail locations.
Use and care instructions
Daily use of our silver-plated cutlery is the best safeguard against oxidation.
To lastingly preserve the nobility of your pieces, our cases are designed to minimize air contact. Should slight tarnishing occur, simply revive the metal using the dedicated polishing cloth.
While perfectly dishwasher safe, your silverware deserves a few special considerations:
- Opt for powder detergents.
- Rinse knives immediately after use.
- Ensure pieces are perfectly dry as soon as the cycle ends.
- Avoid mixing with other metals during the wash.
- Store your pieces in a moisture-free environment.
