GUY DEGRENNE'S COMMITMENT

Because sustainable development is driven by a sincere desire for constant improvement, Maison Guy Degrenne continues to place people and environmental respect at the heart of its vision. Here are some of our key initiatives.

We have redesigned our e-shop shipping processes to minimize over-packaging while ensuring the safety of our products. As a result, we have reduced plastic usage in our parcels by 70%.

PASSING ON THE LEGACY

We place quality at the heart of everything we do to offer lasting products. Pieces designed to be passed down from generation to generation, sharing a part of one's own story, giving these objects a second life, and taking action for the planet.

BUY RESPONSIBLY

We purchase over 100 tons of steel per year to produce our cutlery at our Vire manufactory. 70% of this raw material is recycled steel.

GIVING A NEW LEASE OF LIFE

Nothing is lost, everything is transformed! 100% of our steel scrap from production in Vire is recovered to be melted down and repurposed. 100% of our porcelain waste from production in Limoges is recovered for use in the construction industry (flooring, building facades, etc.).

TAKE CARE

Because workplace well-being is a key pillar of our commitment, we have invested in six Effibots—collaborative robots that follow our order pickers and carry parcels, thereby reducing the physical strain on our logistics team.

UPCYCLING

At the end of our production processes, items that do not meet our standards of excellence—referred to as "seconds"—are sold through dedicated channels to ensure they are repurposed.

RELOCALISING

We now produce 80% of our gift boxes in France through partners located near our manufactories. This initiative has enabled us to reduce the carbon footprint associated with our packaging production by 85%.

REDUCING WASTE

We have redesigned our e-shop order shipments to minimize over-packaging as much as possible while maintaining product protection. As a result, we have reduced the use of plastic in our parcels by 70%.

RECLAIMING

To limit our impact on the planet, we heat 90% of our Limoges porcelain manufactory by recovering heat energy from our kilns.

LIMITING OUR IMPACT

We optimize the firing process of our Limoges porcelain to minimize our environmental impact: using the lowest possible firing temperature that still guarantees PGI quality (1360°C), and firing our decorations at a low heat (max 900°C), which is below the market average.

INVESTING IN THE FUTURE

We have reduced water consumption at our Limoges manufactory by 20% since 2015. By investing in new production machinery, we prioritize the pressing technique over casting for our plate manufacturing.
